You've probably seen it, you probably know nothing about it, you're probably sure that you don't care but curiosity has gotten the better of you.
Here's what you wanted to know about the 'dab'..
What is it?
It's a very short dance used to express how cool you believe you are at a given moment. For example, if you've just scored a goal/touchdown you may wish to acknowledge your achievement by tucking your head into your elbow and removing it very quickly, while holding your other hand out in the air.
Who is doing it?
Every athlete in American sports, and unfortunately now the media have appeared to join in too. Cam Newton is also a very famous 'dabber'.
In the world of football, Paul Pogba and Paulo Dybala of Juventus have started a craze in Italy, and you may have noticed both Romelu Lukaku and Jesse Lingard doing it in the Premier League.
Where did it come from?
Hip-Hop group 'Migos' are credited with inventing 'The Dab'. As a long time fan and appreciator of hip-hop music I can comfortably say that that these guys are not the most talented artists in the World, but they are popular over in the States.
Listen to the carefully crafted lyrics and judge for yourself:
Awful.
How long until it becomes "uncool"?
Thankfully, not very long at all.
As soon as a presenter on Sky Sports News decides to do it on air we can pretty much wrapp this fad up and move on to the next one. It should be any day now judging by the cringefest that was their Transfer Deadline Day coverage.
So if you didn't know, now you know, and you can resume not caring about it.
