This probably isn't the best way to rehab an injury. Manchester United centre back Phil Jones was missing from his team's 1-0 win at Anfield this afternoon through injury but rather than stay at home or take a comforting seat in a director's box he opted to join the away fans.
Jones was accompanied by Marcos Rojo and Michael Carrick and the trio seemed to have a great time mingling with United supporters. The game was quite dull but besides Wayne Rooney's winner, the reaction of Jones in the stand was by far the most memorable moment.
Remember when you would attend a match involving your school team and go insane after an important score, maiming your class-mates to the extent that they suffered lasting injuries? Most people grow out of that sort of stampeding... not Phil Jones, it seems.

What right-minded United supporter wouldn't love to have their foot fractured by a rampaging Phil Jones?

That United threesome weren't the only players at Anfield who like to hop into the stand from time to time. When Sunderland made the Capital One Cup final back in 2014, Jordan Henderson bought a ticket to cheer on his former club.

Rooney's strike was definitely a goal worth going mad for if you are a United fan. They have been slipping out of the top four recently and the volley earned them three precious points at the expense of one of their main rivals.
It was a timely victory for van Gaal too. There was a report in today's Sunday People that had Liverpool won today, LVG would be sacked and Alex Ferguson would return to assist Ryan Giggs for the rest of the season.
It's funny how much things can flip in a couple of hours.
