This episode of the Toughest Trade began with Roberto Wallace peering through the rain at the Mayo-Dublin League game, seated next to none other than Enda Kenny.
Not having had Michael Collins's cufflinks to hand at the time, we speculated that he may have presented the American with the head-bandage/nappy worn by Willie Joe Padden in the 1989 All-Ireland semi-final.
The footage of Aidan O'Shea's time in Miami was rich in highlights.
The words of praise from his coaches at his earliest training sessions - "this is like going from kindergarten to graduate school and you did it all in one day" - his belting out of Ed Sheeran on the way to meet the Flying Doctor, and his asking the estate agent about the property taxes on the 'Entourage-style mansion' that he was scoping out.
However, the undoubted highlight was his chat with the aforementioned Flying Doctor. Padraig Carney has been living in the US since he won All-Irelands with Mayo in the '50s.
Matters turned the curse.
Of course, the 'curse of '51' will not be disproved with something so flimsy as the personal testimony of the people who were actually there.
It will only be killed off once and for all once Mayo do win the All-Ireland.
The mystery of the @MayoGAA curse has been lifted! 'The Flying Doctor' Carney is having none of it! #TheToughesthttps://t.co/5j2IkzZ4iz

Nice touch @AIDOXI meet Padraig Carney on #TheToughest. The 51 team a dreadfully disrespected group of men in recent years.
