Irish football is coming to terms with the devastating news that Derry City captain Ryan McBride has passed away.
At just 27 years of age, his death is a shock and a bitter pill to swallow for everyone associated with the League of Ireland. He was found in his home the day after leading his side to a 4-0 win over Drogheda United, and many members of the local citizens of Derry have gathered to mourn the loss of a much-loved and well-respected member of the community.
The news is hard to phathom, and tributes have been pouring in from all over Irish football and beyond as word has spread of the tragic event.
