We're just a few days away from Galway v Tipperary in the second All Ireland Hurling Championship semi-final but before we close the door on last weekend's action, it's time to reveal the footballer and hurler of the week, thanks to the huge reaction to our polls this week.
Firstly, in the football, with two matches last Saturday it meant there were plenty of choices but Mayo's Lee Keegan emerged victorious in resounding fashion. After his performance against Donegal, Jim McGuinness said on Sky Sports that he considers Keegan to be the best half back in the country:
There's no doubt about that. He's just got everything.
Pace. Power. When he accelerates from the half-back line, he's starting attacks in the blink of an eye.
He's very, very impressive.
Keegan secured 64% if the vote on our poll, while Tyrone's Mattie Donnelly came in second with 21%.
Meanwhile, the Kilkenny v Waterford hurling semi-final produced one of the performances of the championships in the form of The Cats' TJ Reid. It comes as no surprise that he has won our hurler of the week.
In a strange turns of events, it turns out that the margins in this week's hurler and footballer polls are the exact same. TJ Reid got 64% while teammate Cillian Buckley got 21%. In third place comes Waterford's Darragh Fives with 6% - the same as third placed Tom Parsons in the football - and Michael Fennelly comes fourth with 6%.
