The Senegalese Premier League Is Sensationally Competitive With 5 Games Left To Play

If you haven't been watching the Senegalese Premier League this season then what the hell have you been doing!

In all seriousness, it is fully understandable for footy fans in these parts to have no clue that a Senegalese Premier League even exists, but it does (although they'd call it 'Ligue 1' over there), and it's absolutely fascinating.

With five games left in the season, 11 points separate bottom placed Ngor from league leaders Casa, which means that at this point every single club could be relegated, but also every single club could win the league.

Here's the table as things stand via r/soccer:

Holy shit.

Title Race:

With absolutely no other context and based purely on the form guide we have been handed there, here are our top 3 teams that could go all the way this year:

Diambars

On a great run of form, the Saly side have one of the better goal differences in the league and have a proud history in terms of the talent they have produced, such as Patrick Vieira, down the years.

We're tipping Diambars to go all the way.

Linguere

Recommended

Also in with a good shout are the clearly tough to beat Linguere, who are unbeaten in five, possibly more but we'll never know because the league table only shows the last five games.

With 20 goals conceded, it's clear that their free-flowing attack has got them to where they are and by tightening up their defense they could challenge.

Goree

Twinned with the town of Gorey in Wexford, we sincerely hope they can keep their good run of form going and win this title for Ireland. Come on the lads!

Relegation Dogfight:

Our most likely reams to face the drop are as follows:

Jaraaf

They have been having an absolute Jaraaf at the back and their goal difference is very poor. If they are not careful they could be sucked right in.

Asec Ndiambour

A shocking goal difference and a three-game losing streak...

It's tough to see the Asec boys playing top flight football next season.

Douanes

A catastrophic run of form as resulted in the manager losing the dressing room. We don't even need to know anything about the dressing room, it's painfully clear.

They need a miracle.

Pick your team, and stay tuned. This is going to be one hell of a ride.
