The Den was a staple of Irish TV for over 20 years until it was dropped in 2008. Now we all know it's heydey was in the early to mid 90's as we will get to below, BUT given the right resources and focus at Montrose that it should have been, we would be in a much better place today and surely we wouldn't have half the social issues and need for asbos that we do today.

Dempsey started in 1988 and had two bloody good sidekicks

Ray D'Arcy was more craic, Snoster and Socky were on TV. There is no doubt that RTE have let it slide since the heydays of the mid 90s.

And while D'Arcy and Dempsey were surely the best of the best when it came to presenters, there is no Doubting which was the best episode. The What's Snots competition featuring Kevin who is now probably in charge of a bank.
