Jordan Pickford produced one of the great Premier League goalkeeping performances today, as Everton recorded a shock 1-0 win over Chelsea at Goodison Park.
The win leaves Everton still in the relegation zone, however they have a game in hand on Burnley and Leeds, who both lie two points above them.
The loss now puts Chelsea in danger of losing out on automatic qualification for the Champions League, and perhaps flirting with the possibility of not even making the Premier League top four.
Richarlison put Everton ahead in the 46th minute, but it was England’s no. 1 Pickford who will rightfully receive most of the plaudits after a man of the match display.
The highlight of his performance came when he managed to scramble across the goal line to somehow pull off an astounding save from Marcos Alonso's shot, before saving a close range belter from Rudiger with his face from the ensuing corner.

Following the match, both Everton captain Seamus Coleman and manager Frank Lampard lavished praised on the keeper.
Coleman: “That save he came back off the line and parried out was world class and we see that on a daily basis in training and that is why he is England's number one - some of the saves were world class.
"I have been here a long time and never been in this situation but never felt like I did coming into the stadium today - the flares and genuine passion in grown men's faces singing the Everton songs, if that doesn't touch you as players you might as well hang up the boots."
Lampard: “Jordan made great saves. they are Chelsea and will have chances but we had chances as well. Jordan is such a great lad, he is England's number one and that is the reason why.
"That is top level goalkeeping, I a happy with him and all the players and all the subs who came on."
Social media was also abuzz with people in awe of Pickford’s performance.
Jordan Pickford there, with the most obvious MOTM performance I’ve seen all season.
A mountainous display from him.— HLTCO (@HLTCO) May 1, 2022
That's the beauty of Jordan Pickford. You can't keep him out of the game. He'll either make one of the saves of the season, or he'll let one in from 50 yards.

If Everton do manage to avoid relegation from the Premier League, Jordan Pickford will be a major reason why. However, with four games left to play and Burnley in top form, Frank Lampard will need more of the same from his whole squad as the season draws to its conclusion.
