Over the course of the World Cup, I watched my fair share of England matches. In those matches I got a brief glimpse of Tottenham's Eric Dier, which led me to believe that his name perfectly suits him as a footballer. This got me thinking about other players who's names are representative of their qualities and thus the 'players that suit their names' XI was born.
Joe Hart
One thing you would have to say about Joe Hart is that he is a passionate individual. If only he could have directed some of that passion into saving low shots to his left and maybe he would still be a fixture at Man City.
Rafael Scheidt
Rafael Scheidt arrived to Celtic from Gremio in 1999 and after only three appearances was sold to Athletic Mineiro. You're going to have to read behind the lines on this one.
Eric Dier
See Above.
George Best
This one does not need any explanation.
Quinton Fortune
Quinton Fortune's main quality was... fortune. As in, he was extremely fortunate to find himself at Manchester United.
Robbie Savage
In short Savage was a dirty player.
Roy Keane
Keen = having or showing eagerness or enthusiasm. Enthusiasm = blind rage.
Eden Hazard
Whenever the little Belgian has the ball, he is a hazard to any defence.
Peter Crouch
Poor auld Crouchie has spent much of his career stooping for one cross or another.
Ian Rush
Ian Rush = fast. Simples.
Klaas-Jan Huntelaar
I'd like to think Klaas-Jan's parents called their son Klaas because they knew he was going to be a deadly footballer.
