Watching the Europa League highlights back last night and I noticed something that you don't see in too many stadiums around Europe, an appreciation for the Red Hot Chilli Peppers.
The idea of playing music after a goal is scored is nothing new, and interestingly, the New York Knicks recently tried playing a half of basketball against the Golden State Warriors with absolutely no music or videos playing just to see what it was like. Draymond Green of the Warriors said it was pathetic and weird, he really didn't like it.
But while playing music during a game has become commonplace in many football stadiums, thankfully it's kept to goal celebrations, rather than on pretty much every play in Basketball.
While hearing 'Seven Nation Army' is extremely common across the continent, and has been adopted as a football chant of sorts, it was stange but cool to see Lyon elect to blare the opening riff to 'Can't Stop' every time their team scores a goal.
Lyon put four past Roma on Thursday night, and it played for every goal, but it was most noticeable after the huge roar that greeted Corentin Tolisso's equaliser.
The way it leads into the announcement of the player who scored, that's pretty cool.
If you're going to play music after a goal, at least it should be good stuff rather than, well... This:
Leicester have Kasabian, Lyon seemingly have the Red Hot Chilli Peppers.
