Man Utd got their pre-season tour of the US underway last night with a 1-0 win against Mexican side Club America.
Morgan Schneiderlin got the winner on his debut just five minutes into the game.
The match was played at Centurylink Field, home of both MLS side Seattle Sounders and NFL franchise Seattle Seawhawks. After the game, Louis van Gaal spoke his mind regarding the pitch.
The stadium was host to a One Direction concert during the week and Van Gaal is clearly not a fan of stadia having multiple uses.
It was not good. It was difficult. The first surface is artificial and natural grass over. It is always moving. You can get more and more injuries.
It was a big concern. That is the difference in the USA. In American football that kind of stuff is more important. In England we have Old Trafford and it is only for football. No One Direction entertainment. But in England we live for football. Here they live for American football, baseball and basketball. It is different.
