Monaghan will play host to Kerry on Sunday as they welcome the Kingdom to Clones in the second round of the Allianz Football League. Here's everything you need to know about Kerry v Monaghan.

The two teams had contrasting starts to their league campaign as Kerry will hope to bounce back after losing in Tralee to Mickey Harte's Derry last weekend, the home side missed a number of goal chances in the defeat. On the other hand, Stephen O'Hanlon inspired Monaghan to victory against the All Ireland Champions in Croke Park. In what is their 10th successive season in Division 1 Monaghan will look to build on their great start to the campaign.

Kerry manager Jack O'Connor was frustrated after his sides defeat but was encouraged by his teams performance.

"It seemed like we butchered two or three goal chances that we created in the second half. I felt if one more of those went in, we’d have got a result.

It wasn’t to be. I was very happy with the second half performance, I thought we really went after the game, we pressed hard on the kick-out and high up the pitch.

"We played a lot of the game in their half, but at the end of the day, we butchered at least two, if not three, goal chances, and that’s the game right there.

"Very happy with the display, not happy with the result."

Team News

Jack O'Connor named an interesting team to play Monaghan on Friday evening. Both David and Paudie Clifford were named to the bench. O'Connor had said the Cliffords would have the first two rounds of the League off, but the defeat to Derry has clearly changed his thinking.
