As this year's All-Ireland hurling championship threw up yet another memorable game, it is very possible that Galway vs Clare may have given us a new championship record.
With the scores finishing at 1-30 to 1-30, and both Galway and Clare hitting a monumental number of wides across the initial 70 minutes, and the 20 reserved for extra-time, some are speculating that today's clash may have had more puck-outs than any other.
Between the 62 puck-outs coming as a result of scores take, and the 41 more coming as a result of the combined wides count, it made for an astonishing 103 puck-outs.

Crazier still, the evenness of both teams' shot-taking leaves the divide between the puck-outs of Galway vs Clare standing at 50-53.
A ridiculously difficult statistic to qualify once and for all, some of the GAA statisticians out there were under the impression that this could be a record.
100 puckouts has to be a record!!

Furthermore, as GAA Stats demonstrated, this wasn't even the limit of what made Galway vs Clare such a memorable tie.
