With Nicole Turner having a well earned day off after a superb five finals in five days, Ireland's hopes on day six of the IPC World Swimming Championships fell to Jonathan McGrath and Ailbhe Kelly.

McGrath was first to swim today, in the heats for the S8 100m backstroke. McGrath same well, and outside his PB, but it wasn't enough for a place in the final.

In the women's S8 backstroke, Ailbhe Kelly fared a little better, making the final with a time of 1.27.70.

Things didn't go her way in the final though even though she swam in a similar time, which was won by 16-year-old Madison Elliott.
