On a week where Darren Randolph was widely praised for his performance for West Ham in the FA Cup against Liverpool, we are again going to heap praise on the Bray man for his involvement in a campaign with PETA UK to adopt shelter dogs.
The man who many believe will wear the #1 shirt for Ireland at Euro 2016 has teamed up with the animal lovers to appeal for folks to pay a visit to their local animal shelter and adopt a dog, if they can handle the responsibility of looking after it.
It's a good cause, but the image that they are using to promote the campaign is ridiculously adorable..
Look at how safe that pooch feels in Randolph's arms.
It's a look of trust on a level where you feel like she knows he is a professional goalkeeper. That is a dog that is not getting dropped. Special mention also to the cheek-to-cheek touching between Darren and Tia, just delightful.
And we haven't even mentioned the goalkeeper pun. Flawless.
Randolph then had this to say on his involvement with the campaign:
Dogs are great fun, and they bring a lot of happiness and joy into people’s lives – but they are a lifelong commitment. If you’re ready for that, go down to your local shelter and check out some of the great dogs, like Tia, who are desperately waiting for a home.
Fair play to him. If you're a dog lover, give it a share and see if one of the surprise packages of Ireland Euro 2016 qualification campaign can convince someone you know to make a dog's life better.
Tia is a dog who needs a home in the London area, so even better if you're on of the many Balls.ie readers now residing there.
Lovely Tia, who starred in the ad, is available for adoption. RT & help find her a home. ❤? https://t.co/iy2OBtRQ66 pic.twitter.com/09eJYmzemt
