Today in unlikely twitter feuds we have a bit of doozy. In one corner we have Conor McNamara, BBC football commentator hailing from Limerick who you may remember from such sporting broadcasts as TV3's coverage of the Rugby World Cup.
In the other corner we have Darren Anderton, England footballer and Spurs stalwart during the 90s and early 2000s. You may remember him as the man who despite constant jokes about his injury still managed almost 500 club games and 30 caps for England.
Unfortunately for Anderton it seems those jokes have become a bit boring over the years and it was McNamara who felt the brunt of his anger on Wednesday.
True story: They wanted Darren Anderton to do the 1/2 time crossbar challenge. He couldn't. Due to... injury. pic.twitter.com/tc8ATOpm4C

@ConorMcNamaraIE pathetic.. Well done you lying piece of shit.. I went onto the pitch to hand out prizes.. You should be ashamed of yourself

McNamara then clarified his tweet but once again Anderton was having none of it.
@ConorMcNamaraIE good one

@ConorMcNamaraIE no he didn't

McNamara then provided audio proof of the incident, which appeared to be check and mate for the Irish broadcaster.
@Darren_Anderton Here you go. I didn't lie. pic.twitter.com/lduGnoUjzj
