Ahead of Kevin McStay's likely appointment as Roscommon manager, we asked Shane Curran about the much vaunted managerial talents of the RTE pundit.
In the course of the discussion we also asked him about his feelings on the future of the game.
Curran is a big fan of the Dubs but he fears that we could be looking at an era of Dublin dominance in football comparable to Kilkenny's dominance of hurling.
And he contends that, but for an ambush against Donegal last year, they would have been looking at four All-Irelands in five years.
If this dominance comes to pass, Curran says it will bore supporters and harm the sport.
The two most professional sides in the country were in the final and the better of the two professional teams won it, and I cannot see the gap being closed any time soon. I think Dublin are way ahead of the pack, and if you take out an ambush from Donegal last year, you'd be looking at four All-Irelands in five years.
They are the best side by a long way. They proved it Sunday. I love to see them playing. They play the right way. The play off the cuff. They're great to watch. They've got great players. But also the support structures around is also hugely advantageous to them. And that's something the rest of the country and the GAA is going to have to grapple with.
The only team that can beat Dublin is Dublin. And last year, if their half-back line hadn't thought they were in Coppers instead Croke Park, they'd have won last year's All-Ireland as well...

As for the Roscommon post, Curran, who played under McStay during St. Brigid's run to the 2013 All-Ireland club title, credits McStay's man management as his chief asset.
He also spoke more generally about what his own county, flush with underage success, can hope to achieve in the coming years.
