Last year, Cork were just a Fionn Fitzgerald equalising point away from winning the Munster final against Kerry.
A year on, they won't even get to play the Kingdom in this year's Munster Championship.
For the first time in 72 years, Tipperary defeated Cork in the Munster Football Championship with a two-point win in Thurles.
It was a thrilling game; one which saw Tipperary build up a substantial lead before being reeled back in by Cork.
At the final whistle, the scoreboard read 3-15 to 2-16.
The result means Cork are now out of both the Munster football and hurling championships at the hands of Tipperary.
Cork went into the game as seven point favourites with the bookmakers. It was major upset, one which will hopefully give the summer's GAA action a jump start.
Understandably, Cork fans are livid.
Congratulations to Tipperary footballers. Just when you thought things couldn't be worse for Cork football than after that debacle v Kildare

Straw clutching: at least Cork can avoid Kerry in Killarney and work through the qualifiers. (It has come to that).

Cork gaa is in a dark place! Not surprising however considering how soft the club scene has gone!

This is a Tipp team on the up. Their performances in the U21 Championship over recent years have been of real note.
Still, their supporters are ecstatic with that win.
There won't be a cow milked in the house of @paulcollinstipp tonight! Cork GAA in winter it seems. #TipperaryFootball

A cut of silage in and Cork beat twice in the hurlin' and the ball by mid June. Is this the greatest summer ever?

Apart from Cork, the real losers of today's result are the publicans of Killarney.
The publicans, businesses of Killarney shed silent tear as Tipperary qualify to meet Kerry in Munster football final. NoJuly visit from Cork
