Callum O'Dowda is not a name that had been on the tip of the tongues of most Ireland supporters before this morning but all has changed now for the 21-year-old Oxford player.
Being named in Martin O'Neill's 35-man squad for the Holland and Belarus friendlies is the icing on the cake for what has been an amazing week for O'Dowda. On Saturday afternoon, O'Dowda scored the final goal in Oxford's 3-0 win over Wycombe to seal promotion to League 1.
He absolutely skinned a defender to score that brilliant goal. Nice recovery and fierce finish as well.

It was Oxford's first time being promoted in the Football League for the bones of two decades. Here he is celebrating promotion with his dad Brendan.

With an eye on the summer, O'Dowda booked a holiday to Aruba with his girlfriend.
An open-top parade was held in Oxford Tuesday night for the team. Now O'Dowda finds himself on the fringes for Ireland's Euro squad. What a week it's been for him. Hopefully he'll still get to go to Aruba.
