The Red Bull air race was on over the weekend and it didn't disappoint. Air Race planes can withstand up to 10Gs of force and the pilots seem intent of making them prove it. 70,000 fans showed up at Ascot in the beaming sun. The legendary course traded hooves and saddles for engines and cockpits as Red Bull air race roared into Ascot.
The weekend was blessed with good weather but the pilots were dogged by mistakes. Here are some of the best pictures and clips from the weekend.

The weekend was dogged by pilot mistakes. There were no such concerns for Matthias Dolderer though as he dominated the early rounds of the Championship.
Australian pilot Matt Hall eventually won the Championship posting a time of 1m 0.3.426s. Nice and precise. You can watch his Championship winning run down below.
Congratulations @MattHallRacing on winning the Red Bull Air Race World Championships at Ascot Racecourse! pic.twitter.com/4ps4B40gO0
