German humour. It never totally works, does it? (bar the great 2016 film Toni Erdmann that is, though I digress)
Bayern completed a famous Champions League 2nd round drubbing by beating 10-man Arsenal tonight 5-1 to sweep the tie 10-2. It's an incredibly bittersweet occassion for Arsenal fans and Arsenal Football Club, as the glorious Wenger era is ending in abject humiliation.
The sound thing for Bayern to do would be to jump on the next flight to Bavaria and quietly savour the victory over bratwurst/Erdinger/insert German stereotype here. What did the Bayern social media team on their English language twitter feed do?
They stuck a flaming stick of metal into the wounds of all Arsenal supporters.
Note the time stamp. The tweet was sent at exactly 9.50pm. This was a premeditated assault.
Slagging Wenger et al is preserve of regular folk on Twitter. Great football clubs are supposed to be above this.
