One of the real cultural injustices of the Pandemic Era is the way the coronavirus denied Iceland a certain win in the 2020 Eurovision. The lads in the band Daði og Gagnamagnið recorded one of the catchiest Eurovision songs in recent memory last year. To make things even better, the lads wore pajamas and played keytars on stage. Daði never got the chance to perform and win at Eurovision, but he did create a global indiepop sensation.
But rather than rest on their laurels, Daði og Gagnamagniðhave this week premiered their 2021 Eurovision entry. It's called 'Ten Years' And guess what, it's just as catchy. Plus there's the same pajamas and same keytars, only this time there's a choir thrown in for good measure.
Eurovision takes place in May in Rotterdam but we've already found its winner.
The song is a lovesong to Daði's wife Árný, who is also a bandmember.
