If you are of a certain vintage, there is a very good chance that your childhood in Ireland revolved around The Den. The show was a staple on RTÉ for over 20 years, and there was nothing quite like arriving in after a long day at school to flick on the TV and catch up with that day's exploits.

While it aired for the final time in 2010, many people are calling for its return after last night's Comic Relief on RTÉ.

Ray D'Arcy reprised his role as presenter for a special one-off sketch, which also featured the likes of Zig and Zag and Dustin the Turkey. They certainly haven't lost the magic over the years.

Considering that everybody in the country used to watch the show at some point, it is not surprising that this section of the Comic Relief went down an absolute storm.

Not only were people loving every minute of it, they were even demanding that The Den be brought back on air on a more permanent basis.

Who could argue with them?

With all that is going on in the world at the moment, maybe what everyone needs is a daily does of Zig and Zag and Dustin the Turkey in their lives. We certainly wouldn't mind it...
