We all returned to the murky world of bent coppers last night with a fascinating premiere to the latest season of Line Of Duty. The BBC managed to create another series of the show despite covid, as the hunt for H and the murderer of Gail Vella goes on. There was a huge response to the show online, with Line of Duty the top trending topic on Twitter. Reviews were mixed. The Guardian called it a 'slow-burning start', the Times said the show is stuck in 'second gear'. However, the memes were flying in.
As ever, Ted Hastings had the stand-out line of the night when he declared 'HOLD YOUR WHISHT' to Arnott. That line felt like a little treat for the programme's Irish audience. DS Fleming got a few good lines in as well.
Here was some of the best internet reaction to the Season Six, episode one. And best of all, no spoilers!
