The last year hasn't been a great one for movies. The closure of of cinemas throughout the globe has seen most major movies have their release dates pushed back to later this year or 2022.
As a result the only releases we have had to look forward to have come on streaming sites, with Netflix adding another big budget movie next week.
Stowaway tells the story of a manned mission to Mars, with three astronauts set to make the journey to the red planet. However, just after taking off they discover that one of the staff involved in preparing the space craft had accidentally been part of the launch.
They decide against returning home, but when they realise that a lack of oxygen on the ship will make it impossible for all four people on-board to reach their destination, some tough decisions will have to be made.
Starring Anna Kendrick (Pitch Perfect), Toni Collette (The Sixth Sense & Hereditary), and Daniel Dae Kim (Lost), the movie will be released on Netflix on April 22nd. You can watch the trailer below.
Netflix describes the movie as:
On a mission headed to Mars, an unintended stowaway accidentally causes severe damage to the spaceship’s life support systems.
Facing dwindling resources and a potentially fatal outcome, the crew is forced to make an impossible decision.
We're certainly looking forward to this one.
