While Coldplay may have been stealing all the limelight in the home of the GAA this weekend, Dalkey was once again playing home to one of Hollywood's biggest stars and setting the scene for yet another iconic celebrity incident.
It's been a long four years since Hollywood actor and honorary Dub Matt Damon, famously went swimming with a SuperValu bag in Dalkey, delivering one of Dublin's most iconic celebrity moments in recent memory.
While his Supervalu bag and reported kindness has undoubtedly earned the Jason Bourne star a place in the Dalkey Hall of Fame, another massive celebrity has popped up in the seaside village this week, giving Damon serious competition for best celebrity appearance yet.

Hollywood star breaks up Dalkey fight
Steve Buscemi has starred in some of this generation's greatest productions, from Boardwalk Empire and Con Air to Grown Ups and Pulp Fiction, there are few people in the world who wouldn't recognise Buscemi or the movies he's starred in.
However, far from the graces of celebrityhood and fame, after enjoying a quiet dinner in Dalkey the movie star found himself caught up in a pub brawl, with Buscemi reportedly running into the intersection to break up a fight that was underway outside the Dalkey Duck.

Unlike Matt Damon, in the backdrop of all the commotion Buscemi's presence and intervention went relatively unbeknownst to locals, while he might not have been the hero Dalkey was expecting, it's safe to say he's the one they needed.
Those who did notice the Hollywood star casually breaking up a pub fight as if it was an everyday occurrence, seemed enamoured by his attitude, with one social media post by Oisín Heavey, claiming that the star remarked (possibly sarcastically) that it was 'the first brawl he's seen'. Although, given his New York history that may be hard to believe.
Assuming his actions yesterday were not a product of his acting skills, they probably came from the time before Steve Buscemi was a world-famous actor, but rather a New York Fire Department fireman. A job that in 1980's New York, probably involved more bust-ups than the Grown Ups movies did.

Either way, it's safe to say that Buscemi will be joining Matt Damon as yet another adopted son of Dalkey.
