A touching moment.
The 'Shine Your Light' initiative from RTÉ was an attempt to bring the country closer together, despite everyone being apart right now.
The national broadcaster asked everyone to place a light in their window to remember those who have lost their lives to coronavirus, as well as those who are currently battling the disease.
A special broadcast was shown on RTÉ One, and it featured a jaw-dropping performance from Sinead O'Connor. The singer is known for her emotional performances, but her cover of Snow Patrol's 'Run' was incredible.
Considering all that is going on in the world at the moment, it is not surprising that the public were touched by the song. In fact, it seemed to force emotions to pour out.
I think Sinead O’Connor singing “Run” has finished me. #ShineYourLight

As lights shine throughout the country at the moment, it's remarkable to see how everyone continues to come together. It is a poignant tribute to all those who have suffered from the disease, and this performance perfectly captured the mood of the nation.
Fair play to everyone involved.
