Shane MacGowan's funeral took place early today in Nenagh, Co. Tipperary, after a procession through the streets of Dublin.
Among those in attendance were Johnny Depp, Bono, Michael D. Higgins, Gerry Adams, and Aiden Gillen.
The funeral itself was a joyous celebration of the life of the former Pogues front man, with a litany of superb musical performances.
These included a rendition of The Pogues tune 'A Rainy Night In Soho' from Nick Cave, and a magnificent cover of 'Fairytale of New York', sung by Glen Hansard and Lisa O'Neill.

"I loved his presence and I loved his smile and I loved his voice," his wife, Victoria Mary Clarke, said in her eulogy.
"And I love the fact that 50 times a day we would laugh at each other and smile with each other and say I love you to each other.
"And we used to say 'I'm so glad to see you' and like we said that even though we'd been in the room together all day, we'd still say 'I'm so glad to see you'.
"I've never met anyone with so much love, admiration and respect for his own family.
Shane hated funerals, according to Victoria, and was reluctant to attend them.
"He didn't like the idea of death. He didn't want to talk about his own death. He didn't believe he was going to die," she said.
She remembered that when she and Shane first got together, some people told her he would be dead within six months. "He always assured me he would live to be at least 80".
