Despite the fact that no details of the new season have been released, we're fairly certain that the dog doesn't die. Why? Well, that has always been the mantra of Ricky Gervais throughout the arc of the beloved Netflix show After Life.
After the bittersweet finale to Season 2, the creator of The Office and Extras announced on Twitter that he has started writing the scripts for Season 3 already and that the first episode is finished.
While the decision to renew the show isn't a huge shock - After Life is loved by the critics and public alike - a third season is a bit of a surprise, given Gervais' body of work.
The comedian usually stops at two seasons with his shows, so it was a bit of a surprise when Netflix commissioned a new season last month.
Well, it appears that Gervais has been keeping busy during lockdown because he shared an image of himself holding the script for the first episode.
He also stated that that the scripts for the other episodes "are getting there though."

For those that haven't seen the show, Gervais plays a widower named Tony whose wife dies unexpectedly. After this trauma, Tony's nice-guy persona is altered into an impulsive, devil-may-care attitude; taking his old world by storm.
In terms of Season 2, the story ended on a bit of a downer after Tony's father passes away in his sleep. However, Tony's kindness and decency to his friends has a massive positive impact on their lives.
While plot details are scarce for Season 3, Gervais has confirmed that Postman Pat will be returning. We're excited already.
After Life is available to watch on Netflix now.
Just wrote a joke for Brian Gittins to tell in #AfterLife3. It’s so good I’m counting it as a day’s work. pic.twitter.com/UhR0mclmDf
