Welcome to our daily regular on The Rewind, where we trawl through the internet so you don't have to.

The Chernobyl Podcast

The official podcast of the miniseries Chernobyl, from HBO and Sky. Join host Peter Sagal (NPR’s “Wait Wait...Don't Tell Me!”) and series creator, writer and executive producer Craig Mazin after each episode as they discuss the true stories that shaped the scenes, themes and characters

What do you do if you've finished Chernobyl and need to hear more about it.

We're obviously big fans of Chernobyl here on The Rewind. If like us, Episode 5 left you reeling, the official Chernobyl Podcast will keep you inside the world of the show for that bit longer. Creator Craig Mazin brings you inside each episode and gives you a richer understanding and a lot of extra info in discussing each of his brilliant five hours of television.

Well worth a listen if you want more of the show, or to listen as an accompaniment if you're about to embark on a catch-up watch.

The Handmaid's Tale:

Back for its third season with a double bill on RTE 2 tonight, The Handmaid's Tale is not one we'd recommend jumping into for the first time at this late stage. However, for those of us who witnessed the dramatic ending to Season 2, this is something we have been desperately waiting on.

Outstanding performances from Elisabeth Moss and the supporting cast have brought to life Margaret Atwood's dystopian thriller brilliantly over the last two seasons and the show's continued quality in Season 2 suggested the ability of the showrunners to thrive beyond the original text.

Hopes of reunions, revenge, and regime change are higher and more desperate with each passing episode and the stakes continue to feel bigger and bigger. It will be interesting to see how Season 3 is paced.

It's a show that has been very adept at balancing the individual crises and stories of love, desire, fear, and pain with the bigger context of a country overrun by zealot slavers, and the quiet revolution threatening to destablise it. However they manage to continue that balance over the upcoming episodes, we recommend you're there to experience it every Thursday night.

The Handmaid's Tale returns tonight on RTE 2 at 9.35pm, immediately followed by Episode 2 at 10.35pm.

Dreamgun Film Reads:

Dreamgun Film Reads is one of those ideas that is so simple, it’s brilliant. Once a month, Dublin-based comedy group Dreamgun get together and do a live reading of a beloved film after rewriting the script to “pump it full of nonsense”.

The result is an utterly hilarious - if sometimes bizarre - series of love letters to classics movies like The Matrix, Die Hard and Titanic which they share for free as a podcast for those who can’t make the live shows.

The group - Stephen Colfer, Gavin Drea, Heber Hanly and James McDonnell - also have a series of YouTube sketches which capture their unique approach to their work.

You can listen to Dreamgun Film Reads here.
