Famous street artist Banksy has unveiled new artwork in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter and it has had an interesting 24 hours.
The mural was announced on the artist's Instagram page on Monday where he praised the city for their response to homelessness. In a film, the camera pans out to show a homeless man with reindeer rising on the nearby wall.
"God bless Birmingham. In the 20 minutes we filmed Ryan on this bench passers-by gave him a hot drink, two chocolate bars and a lighter – without him ever asking for anything,” the caption read.
However, within 24 hours, someone painted red noses onto it. As a result, Network rail placed protective perspex in front of the art.
Apparently, someone's already painted bright red noses onto the reindeer in #Banksy's latest street art in #Birmingham. Gosh, that didn't take long... 😳 pic.twitter.com/ftmqLSXIwi
