Ireland has been in the doldrums of lockdown for nearly six months now but you know things are getting back to normal when Hollywood celebs like Patrick Dempsey are visiting Ireland's best chippers.
Dempsey - who played Dr McDreamy in the medical drama Grey's Anatomy - has been knocking around Ireland for almost a month He and Amy Adams are currently in and around Ireland because of the filming of the Disney film Disenchanted. Based on his instagram feed, he's spent the past few days sampling some of the capital's finest cuisine. He called into Leo Burdock's yesterday, and being a cultured man of taste, he was impressed enough to start speaking in Dublinese.
Dempsey also commented on a post on a Burdock's instagram post, saying: 'thanks guys !! I’ll definitely come back, best fish and chips of ever had in my life'
It's not quite Matt Damon at the beach in Dalkey with a Supervalu bag, but it's better than nothing. No doubt Dempsey will join legends like Bruce Springsteen, Enya and Derek Davis on the Leo Burdock Hall of Fame wall.
This week, Dempsey was also kitted out by Louis Copeland and invited to a few birthday parties.

Before arriving in Dublin, Dempsey was in Coleraine where he stayed with candlemaker Olivia Burns, as Burns revealed on her instagram page.
"The secret is out. We have been hosting the fabulous Patrick Dempsey for the last two weeks as he prepares to star in his exciting new Disney film, Disenchanted.”
"It has been very surreal going to work and seeing McDreamy every day. We have enjoyed lots of daily chats with Patrick about the beautiful Northern Irish countryside."
In the Dáil this week, People Before Profit TD Richard Boyd Barrett was critical of the pay and working conditionns for Irish crew working on the film.
Recently we’ve had reports, a good news reports story about the Disney production Enchanted. However, other reports suggest the film might be more accurately called Disenchanted when it comes to some of those who are actually on it”.
