Listen, we have all encountered those hipster types. You know the ones, those people that think they're god's gift because they listen to underground music.
Those kind of people, the personification of 'Losing My Edge' by LCD Soundsystem and the people who constantly reference LCD Soundsystem, are the worst.
If you've ever wanted to see if you've got the credentials to be a music snob, now is your chance.
Obscurify is an app which allows you to see how obscure your music taste is compared to other users. You are given a numerical rating based on your listening habits, with a lower score indicating a more underground pallette.
The app also tells you what artists and tracks you listen to the most. Artists are ranked by stars, with 5 stars given to well-renowned superstars and no star ratings given to smaller acts. The app can also break down your listening habits by genre.
Interestingly, your listening habits are also showcased in different forms, such as how much you listen to acoustic music versus electric, as well as how happy the music you are listening to is.
Obscurify also gives you recommendations on tracks that you may like based on your listening habits, allowing its algorithm to work in a similar way to Spotify. The app can also collate the tracks you've sampled the most and put them in a playlist.
So far, nearly 500,000 people worldwide have discovered whether they are hip to new music or if they're flowing in the mainstream. 182 is the global average, with anything under that representing an obscure musical taste.
With a little over 6,000 users in Ireland, you can get a good indication of whether you're cooler than your neighbours.
