Netflix is going to be hit hard over the next few weeks. While we always enjoy streaming a few TV shows or movies in the evening, one side-effect of social distancing is that most of us will have a lot more time on our hands to catch up on the latest releases.
Luckily for us, there's some cracking releases coming to the site over the next few weeks. That includes some returning favourites, as well as some brand new titles.
Netflix Original TV Shows
For sports fans, you can't look past Sunderland Till I Die, with the second season of the fly-on-the-wall documentary series landing on April 1st. The first season was an absolute belter, detailing the chaos behind the scenes as Sunderland were consigned to a second consecutive relegation.
One of Netflix's most successful shows ever is also coming back for a second season. Ricky Gervais' After Life will be released on April 24th, and this is one we will definitely end up binging on the first day.
The fourth season of the epic Last Kingdom will be added on the 26th. If you haven't seen this one yet, it's definitely binge-worthy. Its 91% rating on Rotten Tomatoes tells you all need to know.
It is based around the Danes' invasion of Britain in the 11th century, featuring no shortage of action. Now would be a decent time to get stuck into it.
April will also see the continued weekly releases of shows such as Riverdale, RuPaul's Drag Race, and Better Call Saul.
Netflix Original Movies
Extraction is a Netflix original coming next month. It stars Chris Hemsworth as :
Tyler Rake, a fearless black market mercenary with nothing left to lose when his skills are solicited to rescue the kidnapped son of an imprisoned international crime lord'.
But in the murky underworld of weapons dealers and drug traffickers, an already deadly mission approaches the impossible, forever altering the lives of Rake and the boy.
Lovely.
While no official trailer has been released as of yet, this sounds like it has potential. It will be available from April 24th.
If you're a fan of wrestling, this one might be for you. Who remembers the movie Like Mike, where a child finds a pair of Michael Jordan sneakers that lets him play like the NBA legend?
Well The Main Event is basically that in wrestling form. An 11-year old finds a mysterious wrestling mask that grants him super strength and enters a WWE competition as result.
It stars WWE stars such as Kofi Kingston, The Miz, and our very own Sheamus. It sounds like it could be a bit of craic.
