From the side of his bed, while wearing a dress shirt and jocks, Luke 'Ming' Flanagan took part in a European Parliament debate on Tuesday morning.
Flanagan is an independent MEP for the Midlands-North-West constituency. Like many others, he is working remotely during the Covid-19 emergency. And also like others, he is taking a relaxed approach to what he wears during the working day. (When was the last time you wore something other than shorts?)
"Thank you very much, Commissioner Hahn. Can you hear me there, yeah?" Flanagan began while speaking to the European agriculture committee.
"Obviously, at all times we should be trying to get the maximum bang for our buck. In other words, we should be getting the best value for European taxpayers money when we spend it; even more so now when money is short."
Flanagan later explained on Twitter that he had just been out for a run just before making the video call.
Just back from a run James was in a T-shirt two minutes before. Decided to put on shirt to look respectable! That worked really well 😃

He also joked with fellow MEP Mick Wallace about his attire.
