There's been huge news from Hollywood over the past 24 hours as Jamie Foxx confirmed one of the most anticipated sports biopics in years. Yesterday Foxx said the long-awaited Tyson film would be going ahead, with Foxx playing the Bronx boxer.
The film has been mooted since 2009. IMDB refers to it solely as Untitled Mike Tyson Biopic. There were rumours that Martin Scorcese had been on board to direct it. Jamie Foxx won an Oscar for playing Ray Charles back in the 2004. The first poster for the film was released yesterday and it's got us excited.

Tyson's story is incredible and tragic. In his pomp, Tyson was one of the most fearsome heavyweights of all time. We hope the film will not whitewash Tyson's rape conviction in 1992 and not simply glorify his greatness in the ring. It's clear from interviews with Foxx that Tyson is involved with the making of this film, which could have a massive bearing on its narrative shape.
