Even the slimmest possibility of Eamonn Ryan becoming Taoiseach seems too much for Michael Healy-Rae to bear.
The independent Kerry TD told Newstalk's Pat Kenny Show on Thursday: "If he was to be Taoiseach, I'd seriously consider where I'd live".
The Kilgarvan man's pronouncement came after Leo Varadkar said on Wednesday that he would be open to smaller parties, including Eamonn Ryan's Green Party, making pitches for a turn at Taoiseach were they to go into government with Fine Gael and Fianna Fáil.
Ryan subsequently dismissed that possibility, telling the Six-One News: "That’s not on our agenda at all".
During the general election, Michael Healy-Rae's brother Danny, who is also a TD, expressed contempt for those concerned with the health of the environment, saying, "To hell with the planet and the fellas that say we must save the planet". He subsequently made a u-turn and apologised to the planet.
Michael Healy-Rae has similar disregard for those, like Ryan, who are anxious about the future.
"First thing they'll have to do is they'll have to shake this leafy Dublin 4 attitude, and the flaky attitude again on talking about planting seeds in south-facing windows," said Healy-Rae.
"They have to realise that politics is about real work, it's about real lives, it's about real people and it's about governance".
"Before the election people were talking about stopping people cutting turf, they were talking about people reducing our number of cows because of our carbon emission. While we're all very respectful and worried about our environment, I'm worried at the moment about the thing called mom's purse, and the amount of money that's in mom's purse.
"And at the moment, her purse is very low on funds. And what politicians will have to do is address those issues first".
