Lidl has cancelled the sale of a number of items which were due to go on sale Monday, May 4th.
In recent days, the company has seen queues forming outside its supermarkets before opening as people looked to purchase items which were anticipated to be in high demand.
Forecasting similar scenes on Monday, Lidl has said it will not be selling the Crivit Outdoor Trampoline, Smoby Garden Slide, Gemini Swingset and Wooden Kitchen. The items will instead be available at a later date.
"At Lidl, the safety of our colleagues and customers is our number one priority," the Supermarket said in a statement.
"We have implemented numerous measures across all of our stores over the past two months in order to ensure appropriate social distancing can be achieved.
"Due to unprecedented and exceptional demand on certain items in recent days, we have seen queues form outside our stores prior to opening. These queues have made social distancing externally more challenging.
"For this reason we have made the decision to cancel the following items which were due to be sold on Monday May 4th: Crivit Outdoor Trampoline; Smoby Garden Slide; Gemini Swingset and Wooden Kitchen.
"We apologise to all customers who are left disappointed by this decision but we feel the safety of our team and customers must take priority at this challenging time. We will put these items on sale at a future date."
