Liam Neeson has made some remarkable movies over the course of his career, but it's fair to say that he has fallen into a certain type of film over the last 15 years or so.
We all know the genre. It usually involved him in some sort of life or death scenario where he has to do some bizarre things in order to save a loved one.
It is a trend that was started off by Taken, as well as the two sequels in that franchise. In the last five years alone, the likes of The Commuter, Cold Pursuit, Honest Thief, Blacklight, and Memory can also be added to that list.
For those of you who are worried that we haven't seen a Liam Neeson action movie in about five minutes, then fret not. We're getting one later this summer and it looks interesting to say the least.
Fans react to trailer for new Liam Neeson movie
Liam Neeson is set to star in Retribution, which will be released in cinemas in August. We were given a first glimpse at the trailer this afternoon and it looks like the most on-brand partnership of all-time.

'Liam Neeson can't stop driving or his family will explode' is perhaps the greatest start to a tweet we have ever seen.
Of course, this movie has an incredible similarity to the movie Speed, essentially swapping out the bus for a father on his morning commute.
Even better, it reminds us of an iconic episode of Father Ted.
It's a remake of that Father Ted episode pic.twitter.com/346mSVjtYl

Is this not the plot of the Father Ted episode with the milk float https://t.co/prvZj8Oa54 pic.twitter.com/UQ79OeKJGX

We can't wait to until the Pat Mustard of the plot is revealed.
This is actually a remake of the 2015 Spanish movie El Desconocido (which roughly translates as 'the unknown'), with IMDB summing it up as:
A bank executive receives a bomb threat while driving his children to school that his car will explode if they stop and get out.
Honestly, it reads like a skit.
In all, despite the fact that this is the most Liam Neeson movie imaginable, people couldn't quite believe what they were seeing.
gotta respect the hustle of neeson for getting paid to literally sit on his hole for the entire movie https://t.co/Q6GOTDsNWF

The frozen image looks like Liam Neeson getting word from his accountant that he needs to do another Dad Thriller. https://t.co/OaIL93uuSC

I wish I loved anything half as much as Liam Neeson loves endangering himself in various modes of transportation https://t.co/5dSHM8yHra
