After 15 years Oasis are finally set for a reunion tour that will take place next year in stadiums across the UK and Ireland, including 2 dates at Croke Park.

Those shows are arguably the most anticipated concerts to take place in this Ireland in a long time as it will see the band return to Ireland where they have strong family roots.

There's set to be a bumper line up for both shows but the band are yet to confirm the openers with many rumours flying around as to who could be involved.

The ever frequent Twitter user Liam Gallagher was active on the social media platform Sunday morning and he's now got a lot of Irish fans even more excited for next summer's shows by saying he was up for The Wolfe Tones to perform at Croker with them.

The band have spoken about the influence of rebel music in their songs with Noel saying rebel music was the first genre of music he listened to in the Irish bars in Manchester growing up in the 70's.

I feel as Irish as the next person. The first music I was ever exposed to was the rebel songs the bands used to sing in the Irish club in Manchester. Do you know, I think that’s where Oasis songs get their punch - the - air quality - from me being exposed to those rousing rebel songs.

This potential Croke Park spot could be the climax of what's been an Indian Summer for The Wolfe Tones. Rebel music has come back into popularity in recent years and that was emphasised by The Wolfe Tones playing on the main stage at this year's Electric Picnic.

A potential Croke Park performance would be the icing on the cake for The Wolfe Tones and definitely make the Oasis show one to remember if it wasn't already.
