What is the Toy Show theme 2023?
This year's Toy Show theme is inspired by the classic Christmas movie 'Elf' starring Will Farrell. Patrick Kielty played a role in selecting this year's team and is excited to see it come to life this evening as it is one of Kielty's personal favourites.
It's a big movie in our house. We're going to have a lot of fun
It means we are going to have elves, we are going to have Santa and a bit of New York
What to expect this year?
The first thing to expect is to not expect Ryan Tubridy, it's time for Patrick Kielty to walk in the infamous toy show host's shoes.
Kielty won't be alone however, he is expected to be joined by Santa, Papa Elf and a number of workshop elves.
It is being said that this year's Toy Show will have over 170 performers and toy testers from across Ireland who will appear at some point throughout the magical night.
The youngest elf this year will be just four years old.
Last year’s Toy Show took us to Oz in a set inspired by The Wizard of Oz with plenty of song and dance in what turned out to be Ryan Tubridy’s final Toy Show as host.
Speaking about this year's show and what it will entail, he's not promising that he'll be able to deliver a song and a dance like Tubridy did but he has reassured us there will be no shortage of song or dance, whether it is by him or not.
I would say based on my performance with Daniel O’Donnell, there may well be a chance I will never be allowed to sing and dance in RTÉ again,” he said.
There will be singing and dancing, whether I am singing and dancing is yet to be seen.
