While 2020 won't exactly be a year that many of us look back with a sense of fondness, there's one thing that's destined to lift the nation's spirits, The Late Late Toy Show.
Granted, it's still a few months away, but any reason for a small bit of joy, optimism, and excitement is always welcome.
Well, if your children/nieces/nephews etc fancy starring in this year's show, you'll be pleased to know that applications are now open for performers and toy testers.
As stated by RTÉ, the search is on to find some of the stars for this year's Late Late Toy Show.
"From solo singers to choirs, dance troupes to drama groups or just a kid who has something to say we want to hear from you. If you know someone that would like to be part of our show at the end of November then here’s what you have to do," they state.
Who knows, maybe you know someone that's bound to be Ireland's next viral star like John Joe the horologist, or Davy Fitzgerald's biggest fan, Michael O'Brien?
Launching the opening of application lines this morning, Ryan Tubridy told listeners of his radio show that the team wants every child with an interest in the show to apply.
"We want to get as many applications in as possible. Normally we open the floodgates in September, but we are opening the floodgates now," he said.
Further information can be found here and we wish you the best of luck with the application.
