The performance of contemporary Irish folk band Lankum, at a recent festival in Leipzig, was cancelled due to the band's pro-Palestine stance.
The TransCentury festival took place over the weekend, with Lankum due to perform on Sunday, alongside German-Brazilian musician Gloria de Oliveira.
Lankum Gig In Germany Cancelled
Germany is well-known for its support for Israel, despite its indiscriminate bombing of the people of Gaza, and has had other issues recently involving DJs pulling out of gigs.
"The Lankum & Gloria De Oliveira concerts tonight will not take place," festival organisers said in a statement.
Lankum represents a political stance that we as a venue and festival do not represent. In consultation with the artists, we have agreed to cancel the concert.

Lankum are due to play the upcoming Gig for Gaza at the 3Arena on November 28th, and released the statement below, showing their support for Palestine, and also retweeted the pro-Palestine messages above.
"Like most people of sound mind and reason around the globe, we are heartbroken and shocked to see the indiscriminate murder of children and civilians happening for the past few weeks.
"This, on top of decades of oppression, persecution and dehumanisation is something we can only struggle to comprehend. That is why we are very proud to raise our voices in solidarity with the people of Palestine.
"It’s the very very least we can do.”
