While the BBC cop drama had been available on Netflix, it has unfortunately disappeared from the streaming service, reportedly due to a breakdown in licensing arrangements with Kew Media Distribution's administators, FTI Consulting. What this means for the show's long term future on Netflix or other streaming services remains to be seen but at the moment it is not available. For viewers in the UK, all of its first five seasons are still available on the BBC iPlayer, while those in the US can catch it on Britbox.
If you're looking for some great crime dramas to watch on Netflix instead then there are still plenty of great choices, including BBC's Luther, Happy Valley and Bodyguard, is created by the same man behind Line of Duty, Jed Mercurio. With regard to the upcoming season six of Line of Duty, cast member Vicky McClure revealed that they were less than halfway through the shoot for the new season before production was halted due to the Covid-19 outbreak.
Speaking on BBC Breakfast, she said:
"We were filming, we were about six weeks into the shoot of 16 weeks, so we’ve got a long way to go yet."
"But the production were brilliant – while we were filming and it was starting to unfold, we were all doing the necessary precautions and being well looked after, and then it just came to a halt. It had to, as did most things."
When they'll be able to get back to work remains to be seen.
