The death last week of Queen Elizabeth has, somewhat understandably, led to a period of national mourning in the UK.
The British public have been encouraged to mourn the death of the Queen, with many activities being postponed as a "mark of respect".
Some of the displays of affection for the late Queen, however, have been downright ridiculous.

4. No Champions League anthem in Liverpool
In fairness, the vast majority of the crowd at Anfield observed the minute's silence impeccably. Still, it was an incredibly strange feeling to see a massive Champions League game against Ajax kick-off without hearing the iconic tournament theme music (especially as it is based on the music used during royal coronations...)
Some (Not All) #Liverpool fans Boo & Shout during Minute Silence for #TheQueen, absolutely disgusting behaviour 😡 Minute Silence was cut short #LiverpoolFC #LFC #Ajax pic.twitter.com/o3pgle1IAb

5. Football games postponed unnecessarily
Football took a break last week in the immediate aftermath of the Queen's death. At a professional level, it seemed unnecessary - especially in the midst of an unusually crowded season - while the decision to halt children's and grassroots games seemed even more so.
Of course, Eton appeared to go ahead with their game...
As the tweet has been deleted, we’ll just leave this here
Whilst kids up & down the country are unable to play football this weekend, it seems the same rules don’t apply for Eton
