While it's not unexpected it is now official that Electric Picnic 2020 has been cancelled. The musis and arts festival, scheduled for this September, had been sold out since late last year, so there are of course plenty of festival goers wondering what the situation is now regarding Electric Picnic ticket refunds.

Not to worry, because they organisers have explained everything in their statement today and you can also still keep hold of it for next year.

How to get a refund for Electric Picnic 2020 tickets

In a statement on their Twitter account, Electric Picnic say that ticket refunds are available from Ticketmaster or other original points of purchase Ticket owners are asked to contact the relevant party within 30 days.

However, a refund is not your only option. As we previously mentioned, you can also hold onto you ticket for next year's festival. Electric Picnic say "If you prefer, for ease, you can retain your ticket and carry it over to next year; you don't have to do anything.

They're also inviting anyone who needs any more information to email [email protected] and they'll do their best to help.

Breaking the news of the cancellation, EP said: "Sadly, Electric Picnic 2020 will no longer be taking place."

"Cancelling our festival has become unavoidable, and we fully support the Irish Government's ongoing measures to help fight the spread of Covid-19 and protect lives at this time.

"Whilst the entire Electric Picnic team are terribly disappointed, we have a responsibility to all our fans, artists, crews, suppliers, sponsors, partners and our entire Electric Picnic family, including the wonderful people of Stradbally who have welcomed us into their community each year.

"We would like to thank each and every one of them for their fantastic support and outstanding contribution towards making the festival such an amazing event and look forward to welcoming everyone back in 2021 for lots more fun, music, extravagance and magical moments."
