If you're looking for something to watch on Netflix that's right in that "Good Jesus, I need to switch my brain off from all the news!" sweet spot, then look no further than Hot Rod.
Released in 2007, Hot Rod received many a bad review and boy did it flop at the box office but don't let that fool you; this is no dud of a movie. It's funny, it's ridiculous and it's a more than acceptable way of passing 90 minutes.
That's exactly why it has grown into a cult classic in the 13 years since it was released. There is just so much to love about this flick...

Hot Rod has so many underlying themes. It's about father figures in young men's lives. It's how about respect between father and son, it's about the fragility of hero worship and it's about embracing your own individu ... what am I saying, it's about Andy Samberg crashing into shit in hilarious fashion.
