It's almost six years since Robin Williams sadly passed away and the legacy of the much-missed comedian continues to grow as new audiences discover his incredible body of work.
For younger audiences, films like Aladdin, Jumanji, and Mrs. Doubtfire will always appeal, while for older film fans, his performances in the likes of Good Will Hunting, Good Morning Vietnam, Dead Poets Society, and Insomnia are outstanding.
All this without mentioning his first love, stand up comedy and if you've ever seen Williams perform, you'll know just how talented he was.
Well, a new documentary Robin's Wish will pay tribute to his courageous battle against Lewy Body Dementia, shedding "an entirely new light on the tragedy, beauty, and power behind the mind of one of the greatest entertainers of all time," according to the official synopsis.
The documentary will also feature interviews with the actor's widow, Susan Schneider-Williams, as well as his friends and colleagues Shawn Levy, John R. Montgomery, and David E. Kelley, who all speak about the actor's final days.
Williams himself makes appearances via old clips and interviews.
Speaking about her husband's ordeal in his final days, Susan Schneider-Williams said: "Nearly every region of his brain was under attack, he experienced himself disintegrating. The way that he was able to battle that inner turmoil, he was a fricking warrior. He was blessed with what his heart was capable of, in the midst of fear. He still wanted to help people be less afraid."
Vertical Entertainment will release Robin's Wish on demand and digital on September 1.
