Considering his tendency to produce a slip of the tongue when speaking in public, it was always going to be interesting to see what sort of gaffe Joe Biden would make during his time in Ireland. After all, it was likely to happen at some point during the various speeches he made on his stops around the country.
Few would have predicted just how funny it would actually be.
His 'Black and Tans' gaffe when referring the New Zealand rugby team has already gone down in history, with the remark spawning various hilarious memes over the last couple of days.

It was a hilarious moment, one that you couldn't have written any better. The comment certainly didn't offend anyone in this part of the world, although some people didn't exactly get that message.
Fox News tear apart Joe Biden 'Black and Tans' comment
All the usual suspects have been annoyed by the Joe Biden visit to Ireland, with GB News and Arlene Foster having their say on his apparent lack of interest in the United Kingdom.
Now, Fox News have got in on the action.
Never the biggest fans of Biden, they have used the black and tan remark as another stick to beat the US President with. They also feigned some outrage on behalf of the Irish public in the process.

What he just said is deeply offensive to the country he is visiting. Let me explain.
He confused the 'Black and Tans', an army of the British military police that killed thousands of Irish during their occupation of Ireland, with the All Blacks rugby team from New Zealand.
I guess that's what you would call diplomacy, Biden style.
The replies and quote tweets were also filled with anti-Biden commentators being massively offended on behalf of the Irish population.
While Fox News were always going use this to their advantage, they seem to have rather misread the room when it comes to the mood in Ireland.
Instead of being offended, most people in this country found the whole situation hilarious.
Who wants to explain to @FoxNews that there’s nothing “deeply offensive” to Irish people about the idea of Rob Kearney beating the hell out of the Black and Tans?! As gaffes in an Irish pub go, it couldn’t have been better if it was scripted. ☘️

We could only dream for another such comment before Biden leaves these shores later this evening.
