For a large portion of the public in the UK and quite a few people in this country, the Jools Holland Hootenany is a must watch on the BBC each New Year's Eve. The show has been part of the occasion for three decades, with the first edition having been broadcast in 1993.
Last night was no exception, with some familiar names part of the lineup to ring in 2024. Rod Steward, Joss Stone, the Sugababes, and the Mary Wallopers all taking part.
However, many feel that the show was stolen by an unknown Donegal teenager.

Muireann Bradley may not be as well known as some of the names mentioned above, but the 16-year old certainly captured the attention of the audience with her performance on the Jools Holland Hootenanny last night.
Opening the show, she performed a brilliant musical number that would receive a standing ovation from the audience.

As mentioned by Eric Donovan, as well as being a fantastic musician, Muireann Bradley is also a supremely talented boxer.
Donegal Live reporter Chris McNulty summed up her achievements in the ring in recent years, which included reaching two Irish finals.
A two-time Irish finalist, she was runner-up in the 2019 Irish Girl 2 39kgs final and the 2022 Junior 1 54kgs final. In 2022, she was honoured by the County Donegal Boxing Board, who awarded her the Johnny McDaid Memorial Cup for Best Female Boxer

Fantastic stuff.
With an average of around 2million people tuning in for the 2022 edition of the show, Muireann Bradley would have showcased her talents to massive audience last night. That could lead to some big opportunities further down the road.
Considering what she has already achieved in both music and boxing, there is no doubt that she has a bright future ahead in whatever field she decides to pursue over the coming years.
